Hey Everyone its Jena! I hope you are still plugging away at training so you can reach your goals! My next race is on June 15th (the Kalamazoo Classic in Kalamazoo, MI) I am hoping to beat my time of 42 min 5k... I have been running harder and pushing myself to run longer so I have less breaks!

If you drink water before you run it is actually easier on you and you can run longer. I have found that If I do not drink a lot of water before I run I get dehydrated while running and then it really becomes a chore and it is not fun. Do you have any running tips you want to share?

Hey everyone it's Jena!   I just can't tell you how good it feels to start the day off right with a run.  Since last weekend I have not ran at all because I have  plantar fasciitis.  I ran the 5k this weekend and it started to really flare up again so I am trying to give my foot a chance to rest. I am hoping to get back to it this afternoon

I have not learned to love running yet. I know that running is good for you and the results are amazing in energy, weight, and feeling. This weekend I ran the 5k in 41 mins which I was bummed because last year  I was running 5k's in 32-35 minutes. I kept up with training on the treadmill in the winter time but I do understand that running on the treadmill and running outside are two different things so I know next year to work harder on the treadmill to keep up where I leave off at the end of this running season.

I hope you jump on board with Beth and I.  Lace up your running shoes and start hitting the pavement.

Encourage -Join us and sign up for a race in your area

Inspire -If you are just starting out - start with interval training where you walk a little ways and run as far as you can and keep doing so for at least a 1/2 hour a day. Once you can run the full half hour increase the time!

Devour - Try this shake it is amazing - in a blender mix bananas, raspberries, scoop of protein powder (mine is chocolate flavored), ice, and half and half. Blend well and enjoy chocolate covered raspberries and bananas. Enjoy!

Welcome! We (Beth & Jena) are so glad you have joined us. We want to encourage and inspire you to devour a healthy or healthier lifestyle. We want to share all the ups and downs that come along with training and eating right so you can stay focused on your personal goals to get healthy.

Beth & I started running together last year at "The Color Run" and have continued to run together ever since. Our goal is to complete a 10k in September  of 2013 and a 1/2 Marathon in Spring/Summer of 2014.  We hope you find encouragement and motivation through our journey to help you reach your goals.  It doesn't matter if you are just starting out, or if you are running marathons all the time, encourage one another.

Encourage - Look for a race in your area that is a few months out and SIGN UP!

Inspire - If you are just starting out sign-up for a 1 mile fun run. If race day is a few months away sign up for a 5k and push yourself.  If you have completed a 5k before and you want to tackle a 10k go for it ~ you can do it. If you have completed a 10k and are working toward a 1/2 marathon or a full marathon way to go! There is a lot of hard work and dedication that goes into that!

Devour - I found these tasty semi-healthy snacks the other day - they are greek yogurt covered granola bites and man are they tasty! Give them a try sometime!

Share with us what you are working toward....
